I can’t imagine living any place aside from New York City, but let’s be real, nothing is ever as good as vacation. I recently had the pleasure of staying at 1 Hotel South Beach and lived it up in paradise.

Breakfast in bed!
I can’t recommend South Beach enough for a pet-friendly getaway. Not that I consider myself a ‘dog’ in the traditional sense, but I do understand certain situations are more sensitive to my presence than others. My stay at 1 Hotel was perfect, they weren’t just dog friendly, they were beyond welcoming! They even gave me my very own Barkbox.
I spent the days lounging by the main pool in my very own cabana, enjoying the BEST cocktails, tacos and guac (they even top the guac with crab, yummy!).
After a relaxing day in the sun, it’s time for a drink at Tom on Collins in the lobby of the hotel before heading out for an evening on South Beach.
Waking up on day two of vacay was amazing. I seriously could not get enough of my suite! The bed was beyond comfortable, and the bedding is all organic – even the mattress.
I decided to hit up the rooftop pool, which is one of the chicest, hottest spots on South Beach. DJs are spinning music and the party goes all night. My humans were obsessed with the views (unobstructed 360 of South Beach, the ocean and Miami), but I was more into the food on the roof. The ceviche is the best I’ve ever had. Plus the amazing light was ideal for capturing my natural good looks.
1 Hotel South Beach has enough to do and see to keep you occupied for your entire vacation. But if you do decide to leave the resort, my South Beach & Miami highlight and favorite spots are below!
Shopping Musts:
Alchemist: Lincoln Road and Design District. Edgy fun, high end shopping. Super well curated. Man human bought a Buscemi hat. They couldn’t have been more friendly to me. Love that.
The Webster: Full disclosure, they were not super dog friendly and I’m not down with that, but the Chanel selection is fairly epic, so it’s worth a look.
Base Superstore: Base is an ultra cool men’s store selling smaller, culty fashion brands. Even though it’s a men’s store, both lady and man human did plenty of shopping. Think drop crotch sweatpants and concept loungewear. I personally enjoyed the extra attention from the staff.

Food Faves:
Beachcraft: HOLY OCTOPUS. We ate that dish three times. Go get it, now. Perfect for a night in at 1 Hotels, there wasn’t anything on the menu to disappoint.
Michael’s Genuine: A plate of homemade canine friendly cookies was served. ‘Nuff said. Oh, humans said the pizza was awesome too.
Izzy’s Fish and Oyster: Outdoor seating was very Bean friendly. The staff made sure I had fresh water at all times and my humans shared their excellent lobster rolls and mat have even snuck me an oyster or two.
Poolside Bean (ed note: this was for photo purposes only, only service dogs are allowed poolside!)
Life really doesn’t get much better than watching the sunset over the ocean from your rooftop pool! Hope to see you again soon, South Beach!
