Our Director of Spa at 1 Hotel South Beach, Alena Stavnjak, shares recipes for relaxing and nourishing treatments we can create at home to help unwind and refresh.

Nourish and hydrate your face with one of these three DIY face masks.

COCOA & AVOCADO HYDRATION MASK

Ingredients: avocado, cocoa powder, raw honey
1. Mash 1/4 of an avocado in a small bowl.
2. Stir in 1 tablespoon cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon honey, mashing and mixing well.
3. Apply the mask to your clean, dry skin for 10 minutes.
4. Wash off with warm water, then moisturize as per usual.

NOURISHING HONEY MASK

Ingredients: chamomile tea, raw honey, nutritional yeast
1. Brew 1 cup of chamomile tea with 2 tea bags and let cool completely.
2. In a tiny bowl, stir together 1 tablespoon of raw honey and 1 teaspoon of nutritional yeast.
3. Add just enough chamomile tea to the bowl to create a thicker paste that's still runny enough to spread across your skin, but not too watery.
4. Apply a thin layer to your face and let sit for 20 minutes.
5. Rinse off and pat dry. Moisturize afterward!

BANANA FACE MASK

Ingredients: banana, orange juice, raw honey
1. Mash 1/2 of a banana in a bowl.
2. Mix in 1 tablespoon of orange juice and 1 tablespoon of honey.
3. Apply the mask to your face (lumps are totally fine!) and keep the mixture on for 15 minutes.
4. Rinse with lukewarm water and then moisturize.

Ours hands do all the heavy lifting, so treat them to some well-deserved pampering with the below treatments.

COCONUT OIL HAND TREATMENT

Ingredients: organic coconut oil
1. Rub 1 teaspoon of oil into hands and cuticles.
2. Wrap each hand in a small towel, and allow the oil to penetrate for at least 5 minutes.
3. Wipe the excess oil off hands, but don’t rinse them; any remaining oil will be absorbed over the next few minutes.
4. Follow with a rich hand cream.
(Bonus: can be done as a foot treatment as well!)

EXFOLIATING HAND TREATMENT

Ingredients: oatmeal, coarse sea salt, softened coconut oil, aloe vera gel
1. In a large bowl, combine 1/2 cup of oatmeal, 1/2 cup of sea salt, 1/2 cup of softened coconut oil, and 4 tablespoons of aloe vera gel.
2. Apply to hands, gently scrub in a circular motion for 2-3 minutes.
3. Rinse and follow up with hand cream.
