An Inside Taste Of Habitat, South Beach’s Newest Culinary Destination
What happens when you take acclaimed Chef Jose Mendin of Food Comma Group, add a team of powerhouse chefs with Michelin stars from around the world and create a menu that takes the approach of “Sea Meets Land?” You get the newest dining destination set to open this November at 1 Hotel South Beach, Habitat.
The elegantly casual and sophisticated restaurant will be located on the first floor and is set to deliver a new meaning to the concept of “health food” during breakfast, lunch and dinner.
A little sneak peek of the menu is giving us all of the foodie feels including Scallop Aguachile with Watermelon, Guagillo and Fresh Wasabi, Local Shrimp Toast and Skate Cheeks…yes, Skate Cheeks finished with miso and sweet peppers.
Did someone say “salad sommelier? Chef Mendin will redefine the expectation of raw bar, not only bringing fresh seafood to the table, but also a roaming salad cart that will allow guests to handcraft their greens tableside or dish up other menu selections. In addition to a global menu of ceviches, tartares, tiraditos and shellfish, Habitat will embrace the history of the Robato grill, making it the cornerstone of food preparation.
Who’s hungry? Habitat will open in early November and in addition to the new restaurant, hotel guests can get in on Chef Mendin’s creations 24/7 thanks to a new in-room dining menu that will begin on November 11.
