1 Way to Train

While you’re spending this time at home, we’ve asked our expert trainers from Performix House & Anatomy to share their tips for staying well. We’re here to help you stay on track – both mentally and physically.

Published on: April 15, 2020

To stay well while at home, follow these holistic mind and body tips from Anatomy, a health and wellness sanctuary that has gained international acclaim with its Miami locations, including at 1 Hotel South Beach. Then get an at-home workout from our fitness partner Performix House, a members-only fitness studio based in Manhattan with the world's top personal trainers, who provide their exclusive training services to our guests at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, 1 Hotel Central Park, and 1 Hotel West Hollywood.

Keep your mind active. A healthy brain can lead the body more precisely. Read a variety of books to keep your brain working. When you start challenging your brain to learn new things, synapses and neuron connections are activated.

Find reasons to laugh. A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after.  Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to illness.

Catch up. Stay active and socialize with old friends, but really use this time to catch up on much needed sleep. Lingering pains and injuries heal quicker when we are well rested and our inner systems are in sync.

Do a water challenge. What better time to get your body the much needed hydration it needs to keep you going. Staying hydrated keeps your body in working order and helps relieve excessive soreness from your at-home workouts.

Keep moving! No need to burn yourself out here, slow and steady wins the race as long as you keep moving.

To keep moving at home, Devon Levesque from Performix House created a 10-minute ab workout. All you need is a mat and some motivation. Catch the workout on our @1hotels IGTV, and stay tuned for another at-home wellness session next week.
